FUN STUFF
Computer Games
These are a lot of fun, though I never have as much time
as I would like for them. Mostly I'm an RPG fan, but I like puzzles and
adventure-type games, too. Over the years I've beta-tested a bunch of
games from Diablo to Meridian59 to EverQuest and Ultima Online. How
ironic is it that I went from a hard-core gamer to a game designer on a game
called City of Heroes? Pretty
sweet, if you ask me!
Cooking and Food
But only when I want to. It's never as fun
when four hungry mouths are looking at you expectantly, tapping forks, and
sighing loudly. It is fun, however, when there's no
one
to impress
and I can go nuts and try new and weird things. Ron is always bugging me
about my tastes in food. He claims he can peg what I'm going to order even
before I know what I want. He just looks for the strangest thing on the
menu and ta da, that's usually what I want.
Kick Boxing
I would never really classify this as "fun", but
it was definitely an eye-opener for me. I also learned that I'm a bleeder
(at least I now know what it feels like to throw and receive a punch).
Annnnd I lost the document on this so I'm really bummed out about that.
I'll try and re-write it when I get a chance.
Motorcycles
Yes women DO ride. I've owned two motorcycles in my time. A 1980
Yamaha 400 Special and a 1987 Suzuki RG-Gamma 250. The Gamma was a SWEET
bike, but it sounded like a popcorn maker (it was a two-stroke).
Reading
I know, not terribly exciting in any way, is it? But
I love it. I've been reading voraciously since I was in Elementary
School. One time in
grade 2 the teacher asked us to spell a word
that had the letters "r", "b", "m", and
"e" in it. In a heartbeat, I jumped up and spelled,
"remember". No big to you, maybe, but for me, I saw it as a sign
of genius.
SCUBA Diving
This is something pretty recent I learned how to do.
I learned here in Monterey so that I could pretty much dive anyplace. If
you can STAND Monterey, you'll be feeling like you're in a Jacuzzi in Hawaii!
