High School Tidbit

I'm one of the few who enjoyed it.

I was never stuffed in a garbage can.  (I don't think).

I loved New York Seltzer which the cafeteria sold every day. And I loved my school's Éclairs that were so awesome I had to have one every day for lunch even though they cost a buck.

HIGH SCHOOL

Not so confidential.

Well, you ask a bunch of people what they thought of high school and they're likely to tell you one of a few things:

"Hated it!"
"I can barely remember it."
"My therapist suggests I don't talk about subjects that give me rashes. It's a condition."
"Well I skipped out most of the time, so I guess it was ok."

I think I'm one of the few people who actually had fun.  Ok, fine, homework sucked and some of those classes - - Western Civilization?  C'mon.  But, I had some really great friends which must have made all the difference.  We were kind of an odd-ball group.  We were a mish-mash of brainiacs, athleticos, slugs, etc.  We pretty much covered the bases on your average teenage high school movie.  We were just slightly off-centre.  And we could talk about anything.  ANYTHING.

I was one of these  students who didn't really do all that much work, but managed to get by pretty easily anyway.  I wasn't an "A" student,  I coasted through on B's mostly.  My mother, in an infinite act of wisdom, decided in my 12th year of high school to

a) go vegetarian
b) get rid of all the living room furniture
c) stop renting a television

Everyone would be watching reruns of Cheers and I'd go, "Hey great!  Haven't seen this one!"

Needless to say, since this was before the age of Internet, my grades shot up.  heck, I think I even made the Honour Roll one semester.
